Doris “Diane” Powell, 76, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Friday, April 10, 2020.

Diane was born in Durham, NC, on February 12, 1944. Diane married Charles “Chuck” Powell, Sr., on May 20, 1966. Chuck was in the Air Force, so Diane was able to travel the world as his wife.

They had two children, Chuck Powell, II and John Powell. They settled in O’Fallon, IL in 1980 and Diane worked for Scott Federal Credit Union for over 20 years. They moved to Poplar Bluff in 1994 and Diane worked for Ozark Federal Credit Union as a VP. She retired in 2011.

She is survived by her son, John Powell of Shawnee, KS; and grandchildren Billy Powell of St. Louis; Jessica Powell, Poplar Bluff, Jordan and Alexandra Powell, Shawnee, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son, Chuck Powell, II.

The world is a better place because she was in it. Diane traveled the world on missions’ trips and exploring all of God’s creation. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved all things sports related. She was a wonderful Mom, Grandma and friend to many. A celebration of her life will be held when we can gather. Before then, please honor her memory by making a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association of America (www.alz.org)
