In an effort to stop the spread of illness and protect patients and staff, effective Wednesday, March 25, 2020, Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center announced Tuesday afternoon it would prohibit visitors with limited exceptions.
Exceptions:
• One parent or legal guardian of the patient who is a minor.
• Patients requiring a caregiver will be allowed one (1) person.
• Patients at end-of-life may have a limited number of visitors who must remain in the room the duration of the visit.
• Obstetric patients will be allowed one support person.
*If approved designated visitor meets an exception listed above, this individual must be determined at the time of hospitalization, screened and may not be changed during stay. Visitors will only be allowed to leave twice daily during the stay and must check in and out at the approved entrances.
Additional Restrictions:
• No flower/gift deliveries will be accepted. They cannot be left for staff or patients.
• No food deliveries will be made to the floors. Food Deliveries will be left at approved entrances and the recipient will need to pick up.
• Medical Equipment vendors will be permitted to take to the patient room if they pass the screening process.
• Essential vendors bringing products to the hospital will be screened. If vendors are denied entry for symptoms or travel contacts, whoever is accepting those goods should be notified.
• Only those with symptoms of COVID-19 will receive a mask or for persons with extreme cases i.e. chemo patients, compromised immune system, etc.
The hospital has free Wifi, so you may visit patients using Facetime or another video communication app.
PBRMC thanked residents for their cooperation and compliance in a press release from the facility.
“With your help, we can maintain a safe environment for all our patients, visitors and staff,” PBRMC officials said.
