POCAHONTAS, Ark. — Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, health care facilities around the nation are utilizing an increased amount of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) items such as masks, gowns and gloves. 

On March 20, Black River Technical College’s nursing department assisted 1st Choice Healthcare when they requested supplemental supplies until distributors can be delivered to their six clinics, according to a press release from BRTC.

1st Choice Healthcare has offices in Ash Flat, Corning, Paragould, Pocahontas, Salem and Walnut Ridge. It is a non-profit, FTCA-deemed, community-governed organization who offers health care, case management, health education, nutritional counseling and chronic disease management.

BRTC is a two-year community college in Pocahontas and Paragould, which offers associates degrees and certificates in general education and technical and career education.
