Life is hectic for Casey Robertson Wyatt, but schedules and routine are everything to her.

The wife and mother, who works full time, as well as teaches nutrition and fitness, will share the importance of self-care during the Women Aware quarterly luncheon at the Greater Poplar Bluff Area Chamber of Commerce. It will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday.

“I am married to my high school sweetheart, Chad, and we have two beautiful and busy daughters,” Wyatt said.

Wyatt works at the couple’s family business and is also a nutrition coach at a local business.

She graduated from Three Rivers College, but quickly gathered a few other certifications to add to her resume, including a Precision Nutrition Level 1 coaching certification.

Wyatt explains, functional fitness prepares individuals for everyday activity. It has an emphasis on progress by building strength and stamina, both of which are necessary for everyday activity.

“I structure my day for working around my girls’ school schedule,” she said. “We are an active family that loves all things outdoors. The girls and I love to ride horses, and if we aren’t doing that, then we are all having fun on the farm as a family.”

But Wyatt admits, “I have to have a time frame for myself. Working out helps me relieve stress and tension, and a solid diet helps me fuel that routine.

“I actually bought an e-book online and figured out that I loved the style of workouts,” Wyatt said. “I was instantly hooked. Self care and nutrition awareness sparked my interest during my first pregnancy. I realized I was responsible for not only my health, but my daughter’s health also.

“I was already an active person and I learned quickly that nutrition was the missing piece to achieve my goals. I began learning and haven’t stopped. I am passionate about teaching health to families and I have a special soft spot for mommas.”

Wyatt will show busy women changing their nutrition does not have to be complicated or time consuming. If anything, it will give them more time and energy with their family.

Wyatt will be accompanied by Ashley McLane, co-owner of a local fitness center.

McLane said family, fitness and health have always been a very major part of their lives.

“Our schedule is insanely busy, but we know how important it is to lead an active lifestyle,” she said.

Ashley and her husband have five children, two daughters, 21 and 16, and 7-year-old triplets.

“At the luncheon, we will break down common diet strategies and show a simple way to change your nutrition strategy for life,” she said.

Tickets for the luncheon, catered by Tasteful Creations, are $10. Those planning to attend should call 573-429-1780 by Tuesday. The luncheon is sponsored by Ozark Federal Credit Union.
