Dennis Joseph Herber, 61, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died unexpectedly Feb. 28, 2020 at Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital.
Born in Mineola Long Island, New York, he spent most of his life in Hudson, New York.
He was a Volunteer Firefighter and served in the Army Reserves.
Dennis enjoyed playing cards, horseshoes and watching his favorite TV shows-Survivor, Forged in Fire, Walking Dead and football-his favorite team Pittsburgh Steelers.
Dennis married the love of his life, Arleen Sept. 12, 1992.
He is survived by his wife, Arleen Herber; brothers,-John Herber Jr., Donald Herber and Kevin Herber, sisters,-Donna Halstead, Sandy Markessinis and Missy Hotaling, and their respective spouses; and Larry and Shelia Laurange and Theresa Godenzi, all of New York; his children, Dennis Jeremy Herber, Victoria Herber, Eric Herber, Salina Brown, Christina Sauca and Gary Brown and their respective spouses;
grandchildren: Colin and Mallory Herber, Alice and Micah Herber, Eva Caleb and Joshua Kravitz, Eric Jr. and Amelia Herber, Tyler Brown, Jeremiah and Mya Simpson, Dominic and Vincent Sauca, Lily Alex and Darien Brown.
He is preceded in death by his parents,-John and Mary Herber and sister Phylis Coon.
Dennis loved Missouri and worked at Hefner’s Furniture in Poplar Bluff for many years.
Dennis cherished his family, children and grandchildren dearly.
He will always be loved and never forgotten.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. Rev. Mike Lamkin will officiate. A memorial service will be held in New York at a later date.
