James Kenneth Dunlap, 78, of Poplar Bluff, passed Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. James was born Aug. 30, 1941 to Homer and Mary (Deckard) Dunlap. He married Lenora Kurz Jan. 15, 1965 who survives. After graduating from Naylor High School, James served in the Air Force Reserves. ...

James Kenneth Dunlap, 78, of Poplar Bluff, passed Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at home surrounded by his family.

James was born Aug. 30, 1941 to Homer and Mary (Deckard) Dunlap. He married Lenora Kurz Jan. 15, 1965 who survives.

After graduating from Naylor High School, James served in the Air Force Reserves. In 1961 James, his Dad and three brothers opened Dunlap Implement Massey Ferguson Dealership, working until his retirement in 2003.  He enjoyed raising cattle and working with his son and family at Dunlap Pumpkin Farm. James worshipped at Green Forest Church of Christ. He cared for and took pride in his family.

Also surviving are three sons: David Dunlap and wife, Lori, of Poplar Bluff; Doug Dunlap and wife, Lisa, of Owensville, Mo.; and Duane Dunlap and wife, Sarah, of Hernando, Miss.; his grandchildren: Megan and Ron Young of Owensville, Mo.; Justin Dunlap of Memphis, Tenn.; Emily and Andy Gerth of Rolla, Mo.; Jacob Dunlap of Columbia, Mo.; Graham Dunlap of Owensville, Mo.; Katherine Dunlap, Charlotte Dunlap and Isabelle Dunlap of Hernando, Miss.; one brother:  Bill Dunlap of Poplar Bluff; four sisters: Alta Buffington and Alma Allen, both of Poplar Bluff; Janice Estel and husband, Dennis, of Sedalia and Doris Webber and husband Mark of Russellville, Mo.; one brother-in-law: Joe Bryant of Poplar Bluff and two sisters-in-law: Bettie Dunlap of Poplar Bluff and Floyce Dunlap of Broseley.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Norman Dunlap and Glenn Dunlap; one sister: Carol Bryant; two brothers-in-law: Vernon Buffington and Norman Allen and one sister-in-law:  Mary Dunlap. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service in the chapel at Moore Funeral Service, 1100 Iron Bridge Road, Poplar Bluff.  Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. 

Burial will follow at the Kinsey Cemetery in Harviell, Mo.
