Clara Margaret Hendrix

Clara Margaret Hendrix, 94, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020 at The Manor.

Mrs. Hendrix, the daughter of the late James and Nellie (Preslar) Johnson, was born Jan. 20, 1926 in Poplar Bluff. She was the County Director for the Division of Family Service of Butler County for 30 years. Mrs. Hendrix enjoyed spending time with her family and working on crafts.

On April 22, 1946, she married David Hermann Hendrix in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 2014.

Survivors include a son, David Wayne Hendrix, of Poplar Bluff; two grandchildren, Sarah Lacey Ferguson of Springfield, Ore. and Erin Rebekah Hendrix of Washington, Mo,; seven great-grandchildren, Jordan Fowler, Hunter Ferguson, Allie Ferguson, Grant Ferguson, Cash Hennen, Scott Barks and Alex Barks; two great-great-grandchildren and two on the way.

Two sisters, Mary Stuart and Betty Clay also preceded Mrs. Hendrix in death.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. The Rev. Bill Orr will officiate. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
