Danny L. Rideout, 77, of St. Charles, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020 at home in the care of his wife and family. He was diagnosed with ALS in 2016.

He was born in Doniphan, Mo. to Lois Blunt Rideout Dunlap and was raised with her and his stepfather, V. Gene Dunlap. Both preceded him in death.

On June 23, he wed his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Rideout (nee Selvidge), in Poplar Bluff, Mo. at the Grace Methodist Church, she survives, as does his loving children and family, Rob (Lena) Rideout of Lacy, Wash., and Lee-Ann Davis of Herman, Mo.; grandsons, Joey Rideout of Madison, Wis., and Jesse Rideout of Lacy, Wash.; granddaughters, Jasmine (Matt) Cummings of Lacy, Wash., and Chelsea (Casey) Smith of Foley, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Daniel Smith, Keatyn Cummings, and Charlie Smith; brothers, Larry (Diana) Dunlap of Foristell, Mo., and Steve (Cindy) Dunlap of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; as well as a dear life friend, “his other brother,” Earl Pigg of Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Danny retired from Boeing Aircraft after 58 years due to his health. He was a very talented musician, well known for his love of the steel guitar. He was one of the first members of the International Steel Guitar Association. He played lead guitar and piano as well as the steel. He belonged to the George Mitchell Band. His hobbies were music, fast cars, fishing and hunting. He was a master spray painter and automobile mechanic. He was deeply loved, admired, and devoted to and from his family and many friends.

Memorials may be made in Danny’s name to Shriners Hospital.
