John Andrew “Andy” Lunsford, 87, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2020 in Clark’s Mountain Nursing Center in Piedmont, Mo.

Andy was born on May 21, 1932 in Corning, Ark., the son of Clifton Stone and Ruby (Leonard) Lunsford. In December of 1949 he married Charlene Burke.

Andy was retired having worked as an automotive salesman in the Poplar Bluff area for over 40 years. Beginning his career at Childers Chevrolet in 1967. Prior to his career as a salesman Andy and his family operated a 1,200-acre farm, raising cattle and horses.

Andy loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a member of Hickory Missionary Baptist Church in Hickory, Ark., where he learned songs of the faith which he sang often.

Survivors include, his children, John Clifton (Clyta) Lunsford of Johnston City, Ill., Garry Lynn Lunsford of Poplar Bluff, Kenneth Charles (Judy) Lunsford of Poplar Bluff; seven grandchildren, Julia (Gary) Ratley of New Haven, Ill., Clyde Andrew (LaTisha) Lunsford of Equality, Ill., Katie (Derek) Miller of Harrisburg, Ill., Andrea Cooper of Poplar Bluff, Michael (Jayne) Lunsford of Muskego, Wis., and Bryan Lunsford of Poplar Bluff; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Charles (Barbara) Lunsford of Ash Flat, Ark. and Patty (Don) Land of Plant City, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by three siblings, Aubry Lunsford, Helen Lunsford and Kenneth Lunsford.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020 from 11 a.m. until the time of service in the chapel at Moore Funeral Service 1100 Iron Bridge Road Poplar Bluff, Mo. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Steve Proctor officiating.

A private family Interment will be held Monday, Feb. 17, at Redenbough Cemetery in Corning, Ark.
