PB R-I election no longer contested

The Poplar Bluff R-I school board race is now uncontested and will not be on the April ballot.

The board has three open seats in April and had four candidates when filing closed Jan. 21. This included incumbents John Scott, Jerrod Murphy and Alana Robertson as well as former teacher Timothy Gaebler.

Gaebler withdrew from the election Monday morning.

Without a contested race, the school does not need to be listed on the April 7 ballot.

All three incumbents will remain in their seats.
