Madeline Hoxworth, 93, of Poplar Bluff passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Madeline was born Jan. 25 1927 in Neelyville, Mo., the daughter of Charles W. and Pearl (Jones) Eye. On Oct. 27, 1943, she married Herbert Joe Hoxworth in Neelyville, Mo.. Together they shared over 58 years of marriage before his passing on Jan. 20, 2002...

Madeline Hoxworth, 93, of Poplar Bluff passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

Madeline was born Jan. 25 1927 in Neelyville, Mo., the daughter of Charles W. and Pearl (Jones) Eye. On Oct. 27, 1943, she married Herbert Joe Hoxworth in Neelyville, Mo.. Together they shared over 58 years of marriage before his passing on Jan. 20, 2002.

Madeline was retired having worked 24 years at Gossards before opening her fabric store “Family Fabrics” in 1977 which she proudly owned and operated for 30 years. She greatly enjoyed sewing and cooking and used her talents to provide for her family who she loved dearly.

She was a lifetime member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Survivors include her children, Bobby Joe (Norma) Hoxworth of Ellsinore, Mo., Dennis (Sondra Kay) Hoxworth of Paducah, Ky., Susan Rosenquist of Poplar Bluff and Marcy Hoxworth of Malden, Mo.; six grandchildren, Bobby Hoxworth of Kansas City, Mo., Brad Smith of New York, N.Y., Sean Colclasure of Poplar Bluff, Brianne Colclasure of Bernie, Mo., Rob (Berkley) Rosenquist of Jackson, Mo., Ryan Rosenquist of Springfield, Mo.; seven great-grandchildren, Sarah Hoxworth, Derek Hoxworth, Jonathan Rosenquist, Ryan Rosenquist, Caroline Rosenquist Madi Colclasure and Kody Colclasure.

In addition to her parents and husband, Madeline was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mackenzie Smith-Robinson; three sisters, Juanita Casinger, Ruth Patillo and Mildred Hodge and two sons-in-law Alan Smith and Carl Rosenquist.

Visitation will be held in the chapel at Moore Funeral Service, 1100 Iron Bridge Road, Poplar Bluff, Mo. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020 from noon until the time of service. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow immediately at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley, Mo.
