Robert Paul Eddleman, 80, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020 at Westwood Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Eddleman, the son of the late Jess W. and Irene (Terbrek) Eddleman, was born Dec. 23, 1939 in Perryville, Mo. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mr. Eddleman proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for the Missouri State Highway Patrol and retired as a sergeant after 30 years of service. Mr. Eddleman was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a volunteer at the St. Vincent DePaul food pantry. He enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking and working in the yard.
On Aug. 19, 1961 he married Alice Feltz in St. Louis, Mo. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include three children, Patricia (David) Martin of Holts Summit, Mo., Debra Shoemaker of Fredericktown, Mo. and David (Jackie) Eddleman of Daleville, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Samantha Casteel, Rebecca Martin, Katie Martin, Joey Shoemaker, Teri Griot, Allison Eddleman and Lyndsey Eddleman; a brother, Eugene Eddleman of Farmington, Mo.; and a sister, Marie Diebold of Atlanta, Ga.
A brother George Eddleman preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2020 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fredericktown, Mo. with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 a.m. celebrated by Father John Braun. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
