Meet a Teacher: Shantel Baranowski

Shantel Baranowski is a first grade teacher at Oak Grove Elementary. This is her sixth year as a teacher.

Q. Where/what did you study in school?

A. Bachelors- Elementary Education from Central Methodist University

Masters- Educational Technology from Lindenwood University

Q. Why did you get into teaching?

A. I have always wanted to be able to help others and I felt this was a way I could do that.

Q. What’s your favorite part of teaching?

A. Getting to watch the kids grow throughout the years.

Q. What’s the most challenging part?

A. Being able to fit everything they need to know in the time that I have with them.

Q. What would you tell a student who is thinking about becoming a teacher?

A. It is a rewarding field that allows you to make a positive difference in someone’s life.
