Gene Jackson

FISK — Gene Jackson, age 67, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Broseley, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019 at his residence in Poplar Bluff. Mr. Jackson was born Feb. 24, 1952 in Poplar Bluff son of the late Calvin and Jane Jackson. He worked as a construction superintendent for Huffman Construction for 38 years. He enjoyed writing and nature. He was especially fond of his vegetable and flower garden.

On Dec. 1, 1973 he married Linda Cooper. She survives.

He is also survived by two daughters, Lisa Smith and husband, Brandon of Eglin AFB, Fla. and Jennifer Jackson of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Curtis Jackson and wife, Denise, of Broseley; one sister, Karen Ervin and husband, Ed of Poplar Bluff and three grandchildren, Zoe Smith, Samuel Smith and Cooper Jackson.

He was also preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Dorinda Jackson.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will follow at noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Brian Sharp officiating.
