A 46-year-old Dexter woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, on U.S. Highway 60, at Highway FF.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Jennifer L. Cox was operating a 2002 Saturn Vue when another driver failed to yield.
Paul A. Gaines, 61, of Poplar Bluff was operating a 2015 Freightliner, and stopped at a stop sign while attempting to make a left hand turn. According to the report, Cox was heading westbound on U.S. Highway 60 and Gaines failed to yield resulting on her vehicle striking the trailer of his vehicle.
Cox was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:32 p.m. by New Madrid County Coroner George Delisle.
She is the 53rd fatality for Troop E this year.
