Christmas Tree Forest opens Sunday

Diana Frazier and Christie Bell add the final touches the Poplar Bluff Junior High tree for the annual Christmas Tree Forest at the Poplar Bluff Museum, which opens Sunday.

Trees are decorated with ornaments crafted by local school children. Votes will be taken through 3:45 p.m. Sunday for the People’s Choice Award. The winner will be announced at 4 p.m.

This annual event also offers the public an opportunity to see the many displays of local history preserved by the museum, according to organizers. The museum is located at 1010 N. Main St.

The event is free. Cookies and punch will be served.
