Firefighters began knocking the fire down through a bedroom window, with additional firefighters forcibly entering the home to begin an interior attack.
Firefighters subsequently found fire in the attic. The source of most of the fire in the attic was the furnace, which was removed by firefighters.
A positive-pressure-ventilation fan was set up at a door and 750 gallons of water was used to put out the fire.

City firefighters responded at 8:11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, to a report of a semi-truck leaking diesel fuel at 3095 Oak Grove Road.
According to the report, firefighters found a tractor-trailer parked on the side of the road, with a trail of leaked fuel running about 100 feet down the side of the curb. An estimated five to seven gallons of fluid had leaked.
Firefighters initially dumped a bucket of oil absorbent at the end of the fluid line to keep the fuel from running any further. The fluid reportedly had not made its way into any drains or soil.
The driver told firefighters the truck had been parked since the prior evening and a haz-mat company was en route to take care of the leak and the tank on the truck.
Firefighters found the leak coming from the area under a fuel strap benefit the truck’s tank, which made it unable to be plugged/stopped with the fire department’s equipment.
The leak reportedly was slow, so firefighters obtained an oil-change container and placed it under the leak.
A load of sand was requested from the street department to be placed on the leak.
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources was notified.
