Shedric Anderson, 45, of Poplar Bluff was found guilty in federal court this week of two felony counts of aggravated sexual abuse after a two-day trial presided over by U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr.
The case stemmed from an incident, which occurred in February while Anderson was confined as a federal prisoner in the Dunklin County Jail.
Testimony during this week’s trial showed Anderson committed the assault on another inmate during his incarceration, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Keith Sorrell.
Anderson will be sentenced Feb. 18, 2020, and faces a maximum punishment of life imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.
