Two separate accidents Tuesday resulted in serious injuries for three area teenagers, the first involving a head on crash and the second a rollover accident.

A Bernie teen was injured at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday in the first accident, which occurred on County Road 237 in Stoddard County.

The 1996 Ford F-150 he was riding in crossed the centerline and struck a second vehicle head on, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The accident occurred about half a mile north of Highway AC.

A 16-year-old Bloomfield boy was driving the vehicle southbound, according to the report. The patrol no longer names minors involved in traffic accidents.

Both teens were taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. The passenger suffered serious injuries, while the driver had moderate injuries.

No injuries were reported from the second vehicle, a 2019 Ford F-150 driven northbound by Timothy A. Hector, 21, of Bloomfield.

A second accident at 8:58 p.m. Tuesday resulted in serious injuries for two Butler County teens. It occurred on County Road 467, one mile west of Poplar Bluff, according to the patrol.

Michael D. Bohannon, 19, was eastbound in a 2009 Mercury Murano when his vehicle ran off the roadway, struck a driveway and overturned, troopers report.

Both the driver and a 18-year-old passenger, Preston H. Blocker, suffered serious injuries.

Both were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
