Donald Eugene Hall

Donald Eugene Hall, 91, of Poplar Bluff, entered Heaven’s gates Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Don, the son of the late Joseph Arvil and Alice Sinks Hall, was born Oct. 16, 1928, in Poplar Bluff. He was a long-time member of South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church and had retired from Smiley Container Co. During his earlier years, Don worked as a butcher at Gowan Grocery and as a baker at Toellner Bread Company. He enjoyed woodworking, listening to bluegrass music and going to flea markets.

He married Billie Jean Brown on Oct. 25, 1959, in Poplar Bluff. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2007.

Survivors include a son, Michael A. (Mary) Hall; a grandson, Brandon Hall; a sister, Kittye Alice Hall, all of Poplar Bluff; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Hall of McKinney, Texas. and a niece, Janice Wallis of Rockwall, Texas.

Don was also preceded in death by a brother, Ted J. Hall.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with a graveside service following at 11 a.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery. The Rev. Rick White will officiate.
