Wesley Cord Lewis, 58, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019. Wesley was born March 26, 1961 in Poplar Bluff to the late Lonnie B. Lewis and Olivia D. (Shaw) Lewis. He grew up in Poplar Bluff and attended Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
Wesley met his wife, Jacqueline Anderson and they were married on July 19, 1986 in Broseley. She survives.
He was campus security supervisor for the Poplar Bluff Schools system. He enjoyed the great outdoors with many activities such as camping, fishing, hiking, canoeing and was quite the accomplished cook as well.
Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline (Anderson) Lewis of Poplar Bluff; two sons, Lonnie B. Lewis of Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland and Irving L. Lewis of York, Pa.; three daughters, Katrina Hopson and Candace Lewis of Poplar Bluff and Olivia Lewis of Horn Lake, Miss.; four sisters, Barbara Lewis-Williams of Killeen, Texas, Angela Cavin of Colorado Springs, Colo., Earletta Shaw and Gerry Rigney of Poplar Bluff; eight grandchildren. Preceding Wesley in death were his parents, Lonnie B. Lewis and Olivia D. (Shaw) Lewis and his three brothers, Irving L. Lewis, Cedric B. Lewis and Lonnie B. Lewis.
Services are scheduled to be held Saturday, Oct. 26 with visitation at 11 a.m. and service at 1 p.m. in the Poplar Bluff High School gymnasium. Bishop Ronnie Webb will be officiating. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
