Ona L. Rushing

Ona L. Rushing, age 82, of Fisk, died Oct. 21, 2019 at Mark Twain Caring Center. Ona was born Jan. 22, 1937 in Camden, Tenn.

Mrs. Rushing was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing, gardening, tending to her many flowers and her pet dog, Emmy. She was a member of the Faith Community Church in Dudley, Mo.

On June 6, 1953 she married the late James T. Rushing. They moved to Missouri in 1954.

Ona is survived by five children, Ronnie (Teresa) and Mike (Tammy) both of Fisk, Patricia Kopp of St. Louis, Janice Rushing of Poplar Bluff and Timothy Rushing and special friend, Sandy of Chaffee, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Jimmy (Natalie), Joshua, Jessica, Ryan (Heather), Aaron (Taylor), Lisa (Darrel) and Danny; 11 great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Ethan, Shawn, Landon, Levi, Lucas, Lydia, Madison, Allie, Lane and Lance.

She was preceded in death by one son, James Darrell; her brother, Joe Brewer and parents, Finley and Daisy Faxon.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley.
