PARK HILLS, Mo. — The Poplar Bluff High School SHO-ME Marching Band and the Puxico High School Marching Machine earned honors last Saturday at the 34th annual Rebel Invitational marching competition in Park Hills, Mo. The event featured 18 of the best marching bands from around the state competing in a preliminary round of competition early in the day.
Puxico swept the Class 1 preliminary division earning first place honors and winning caption awards for outstanding music, visual and percussion. Poplar Bluff was awarded third place honors in the Class 5/6 preliminary division.
Both bands earned spots in the top 10 group, moving into the finals competition later that evening.
Poplar Bluff finished sixth overall with a score of 69.85 and Puxico earned an eighth place finish with a score of 55.60.
