City firefighters responded at 10:49 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, to a structure fire at the 427 W. Neat St. residence owned by Patsy Shy.
According to the report, firefighters found the home fully involved upon their arrival. There reportedly was heavy smoke coming from a front window, and the front door was almost consumed by the fire.
Firefighters used 1,000 gallons of water to put out the fire, which is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

City firefighters responded at 9:16 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, to a fire in the back yard at the 312 W. Relief St., occupied by Wade Walker.
According to the report, firefighters found Walker burning trash in a fire pit, and he put out the fire.

City firefighters responded at 11:38 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, to a reported of an unauthorized burn in the area of Clyde and Harper streets.
According to the report, firefighters found Corey Butler burning in his back yard at 114 E. Harper St.
Firefighters reportedly told him about the city’s burn ordinance and used 10 gallons of water to put out the fire.

City firefighters responded at 7:06 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, to a report of an unauthorized burn at the 930 Tremont St. residence occupied by Dwane Hester.
According to the report, firefighters found a small unauthorized fire and used 20 gallons of water to put out the fire. Firefighters also told Hester about the city’s burn ordinance.

City firefighters responded at 6:57 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, to a fire at the 2055 Cravens Lane residence occupied by David Voegtlin.
According to the report, firefighters found an unauthorized burn and used 300 gallons of water to put out the fire.
Firefighters also told Voegtlin about the city’s burn ordinance.

County firefighters responded at 2:04 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, to a structure fire at 2090 County Road 654.
According to the report, the fire was located inside the Qulin Fire Protection District, and firefighters stood by until Qulin firefighters arrived.
The home, owed by Ron Redmond, was destroyed.

County firefighters responded at 4:11 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, to a field fire at 305 County Road 330.
According to the report, about five acres, owned by Shirley Golden, burned. The fire spread from a reported trash fire.
