If the cooler temps of late haven’t put you in a festive fall mood, a few area events may just do the trick. Get your fright on at the Aad Grotto’s haunted attraction, celebrate Oktoberfest with the Knights of Columbus or head over to Fisk for its annual fall festival this weekend.

• The Haunted Grotto in Poplar Bluff is open every weekend in October offering visitors a spooky trek through twisted pathways filled with surprise frights to get the whole family in the Halloween spirit. The attraction runs from 7-10:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday through Oct. 31. The venue is open to all ages but parental discretion is advised as some experiences may be frightening to younger participants. Minimal entry fee. The Aad Grotto is located at 3102 Aad Grotto Road in Poplar Bluff. The grotto is associated with the local Three Rivers Shrine Club, who provides care for children and families in need throughout the year.

• das Willkommen to the annual Knights of Columbus Council 1706 Oktoberfest from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Saturday at the K of C Hall, 2280 Grand Avenue in Poplar Bluff. Enjoy traditional German food such as Wienerschnitzel and Spaetzle. Minimal entry fee includes meal plus free games and activities for children throughout the day. The Knights of Columbus support a boundless variety of charities and community projects.

• The annual Fisk Fall Harvest Festival begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Fisk City Park. Enjoy a day of games, fellowship, entertainment, crafts and lots of food. Proceeds from the festival will be used to benefit the Fisk community and support underprivileged families during the holiday season. For more information call 573-967-3810.
