NEELYVILLE — Scott Alan Garrett,36, of Fairview Heights, Ill., passed away Oct. 6, 2019 in Mascoutah, Ill. Visitation for Scott will be at 6 p.m. Thursday Oct. 10 in the Fowler & Sons Funeral Home in Neelyville. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday Oct. 11 in the funeral home chapel.

NEELYVILLE — Scott Alan Garrett,36, of Fairview Heights, Ill., passed away Oct. 6, 2019 in Mascoutah, Ill. He was born Feb. 28, 1983 in Poplar Bluff, to the Douglas Garrett and Rebecca Day.

On Aug. 6, 2011 at Belleville, Ill., Scott was married to Kristin Keel. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Gage Garrett of Arkansas, Bryce Garrett and Kaylee Garrett both of Fairview Heights, Ill.; his father and stepmother, Douglas and Goldie Garrett of Poplar Bluff; his mother, Rebecca Day of Neelyville; his grandparents, Jerry and Rose Garrett of Fairdealing and Margaret Wagner of Poplar Bluff. He is also survived by three brothers, Craig Cruz of Mascoutah, Ill., Aaron Cruz and Phillip Cruz both of Paragould, Ark.; one stepbrother also survives, Michael Brown of Clovis, New Mexico.

Scott is preceded in death by his grandfather, David Day and one aunt, Judy Hendrix.

He had served one tour in the United States Army from 2005 till 2009 in Iraq and worked as a maintenance supervisor for a metal fabrication company. Scott enjoyed working with tools, working on his truck and spending time with his children.

Visitation for Scott will be at 6 p.m. Thursday Oct. 10 in the Fowler & Sons Funeral Home in Neelyville. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday Oct. 11 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the Kinsey Cemetery near Harviell with Bruce M. Wareing officiating.
