A 16-year-old Piedmont resident was killed in an all-terrain-vehicle crash at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, on River Road, one and one-half miles from Champion Springs Road, west of Annapolis, in Reynolds County.
According to the report, the teen was operating a northbound 1997 Polaris ATV that was crossing a low-water crossing when he lost control of his ATV, and it overturned.
The teen, who was ejected, was taken by ambulance to Iron County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by Reynolds County Coroner Jeff McSpaden.
The teen is the 31st fatality in Troop G this year as compared to 32 in 2018.
