Blanche Aline Vincent, 85, of Poplar Bluff and formerly of Jonesboro, Ark., went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019 at the Mark Twain Caring Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Blanche was born on March 24, 1934 in Jonesboro, the daughter of James Hubert and Elsie Lee (McEwen) Hankins. On Oct. 4, 1952 she married Harlan Lee Vincent at Bethany Baptist Church in Jonesboro and together they shared over sixty-six years of marriage.
Blanche worked at Montgomery Ward as a sales associate and payroll clerk in Poplar Bluff and Little Rock. She also enjoyed volunteering as an income tax consultant for seniors with AARP.
Blanche was a member at Westwood Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff where she looked forward to attending the ladies bible study and senior adult class outings. She was active in the church and loved visiting the sick and providing meals for others. She loved singing and playing the piano. Blanche had a deep love for southern gospel music, which seemed to sooth her soul.
In addition to her husband, Blanche is survived by her children, Karen Gail (Javed) Iqbal of Mission Viejo, Calif., Patricia Lee (Terry) Kimbrow of Conway, Ark. and Dale Edward Vincent of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren, Jennifer (Nick) Harrell of Conway, Ark., Jason (Ashley) Kimbrow of Fayetteville, Ark., Justin (Sarah) Kimbrow of Conway, Ark., Michael Iqbal of Mission Viejo, Calif. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Vera Medlin, Lorene Bishop and Inez Gipson; two brothers, Lloyd Hankins and Edward Hankins and a grandson, Shawn Iqbal.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Monday, Sept. 30 in the chapel at Moore Funeral Service, 1100 Iron Bridge Road, Poplar Bluff. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Bro. Steve Proctor and Terry Kimbrow officiating. Committal will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Philadelphia Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark.
