Maxine Coleman, 80, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away on Sept. 18, 2019, in Poplar Bluff surrounded by family and friends.
Maxine was born on March 26, 1939, to Earley and Verna (Greer) Kenser in Essex, Mo. She married William Howard Coleman on Oct. 15, 1966, in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Mrs. Coleman co-pastored Bible Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff for 40 years with her husband, Howard, where she was also the song leader. She enjoyed reading her Bible and listening to and singing gospel music. She was retired dietician supervisor from Cedargate Nursing Facility in Poplar Bluff.
Maxine is survived by her loving husband of almost 53 years, Howard Coleman; daughter, Tonya Pratt and husband, Glynn; son, Ronald Eugene Springer and wife, Martha; son, Robert Keith Springer and wife, Lori; stepdaughter, Cynthia Eastwood and husband, Ralph; granddaughters, Jodi Springer and fiance, Owen; Chasity Hampton and husband, Jeremy; grandson, Hunter Pratt and wife, Emma; granddaughters, Brittney and Ashley Springer; great-granddaughters, Madalynn Wertenberger, Alauna and Alexis Hampton; brothers, Bill Kenser “Dub” and Earl Kenser Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Coleman was preceded in death by her parents; a stepson, Billy Coleman; brothers, Troy, Loren, Lewis and Ithel Kenser; sisters, Alfreda Edmonds, Verline Whitaker, Helen Holden and Margie Maddux.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, from noon to 2 p.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jerry Cooper and Kevin Goble officiating. Interment will be Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., at 11 a.m.
