Rikki Johnson is a fifth grade teacher at Poplar Bluff Middle School. She teaches math and science. This is her second year as a teacher.
Q. Where/what did you study in school?
A. I received my Elementary Education degree through Hannibal LaGrange University.
Q. Why did you get into teaching?
A. My elementary teachers (Neelyville R-IV) have influenced me to become a teacher ever since. They made learning fun and I wanted to do the same for my students.
Q. What’s your favorite part of teaching?
A. Making a difference in my student’s lives.
Q. What’s the most challenging part?
A. Trying to meet the educational needs of every child but it is rewarding to accomplish.
Q. What would you tell a student who is thinking about becoming a teacher?
A. I would say that it is a terrific choice and the most rewarding job to have!
