In the next few months, the Poplar Bluff Police department will conduct alcohol sale compliance checks at local businesses.
Young adults under the age of 21 will visit businesses which sell alcoholic beverages by the drink or package and will try to purchase alcoholic beverages, police Capt. Dave Sutton wrote in a press release.
Police officers, he said, will be working with these minors and will cite employees and businesses for violations.
“We are confident local retailers and their employees share our commitment to protecting the health and safety of our children and young adults,” Sutton said.
If there are any questions, or if you know of any businesses which are not checking ID for the sales of alcoholic beverages, please contact Cpl. Rich Knapp at 573-785-5776 or by email at rknapp@pbpolice.org.
