Christopher W. Walberg, 28, of Doniphan was arrested at 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended. He was held at the Ripley County jail for 24 hours.

Donald D. Hines, 27, of Doniphan was arrested at 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (ambien) and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. He was held at the Ripley County jail for 24 hours.

Joshua P. Bradberry, 23, of Dover, Tenn. was arrested at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, on suspicion of possession of a marijuana. He was cited and released.

Edward L. Rudloff, 38, of House Springs, Missouri, was arrested at 4:41 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, on two Jefferson County warrants for writ of body attachment and failure to appear for littering. He was held at the Reynolds County Jail on bond.

A 20-year-old Doniphan woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, on 142 East about 20 miles north of Missouri 142 in Ripley County.

According to the report, Taylor L. Deckard was operating a 2007 Pontiac Torrent going southbound when the car crossed the center line and struck Allison M. Hodo of Paragould, Arkansas, who was operating a 2017 Nissan Juke.

Deckard suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

A 27-year-old Doniphan man was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 2:35 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, on County Road 253 four miles southwest of Grandin.

According to the report, Allen W. Pierce was operating a 1999 Jeep Cherokee when the vehicle left the road and overturned.

Pierce suffered moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Memorial Hospital before later being transported by air to St. Louis University Hospital.

Butler County Sheriff's Department

Butler County Sheriff officers responded to a report of mail fraud on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 12:11 a.m.

William J. Leslie, 54, of Rombauer reported to officers that on Aug. 4 she purchased a water pump online, which was to be mailed to his residence. When he received an email that the package arrived it was not at his residence.

According to the report, Leslie checked with the postmaster and was told the package had been delivered to 206 Crooked Pine Lane in Poplar Bluff but the homeowner refused the package and it was returned to the sender. The postmaster believes the incident was some form of mail fraud, according to the report, as the sender had Leslie’s correct home address when the package was shipped.

Martin Wayne Hicks, 54, of the 3200 block of County Road 628 was booked in the Butler County jail Friday, Aug. 30, on suspicion of possession of marijuana as well as a failure to appear warrants for driving while suspended, driving with an invalid license, non-support, tampering with a motor vehicle and suspicion of first degree trespassing.

Jeremy James Thurner, 30, of the 400 block of County Road 4702 was booked in the Butler County jail Friday, Aug. 30, on suspicion of driving while revoked and non-support.

Poplar Bluff Police Department

The Poplar Bluff Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious person on Friday, Aug. 30.

Officers arrived at North E Street and Magnolia Street to make contact with Cassandra Austin, 34, Gary Webb, 75, and Joseph Chambers, 40.

According to the report, Chambers, of the 2800 block of Green Street, was intoxicated and began throwing debris at Austin, saying that he wanted his phone back. Chambers began “talking about God and wishing to die” before requesting to go to the hospital for mental health issues.

While en route to the hospital, according to the report, Chambers caused a laceration to the back of his head and was bleeding, which EMS staff said was intentional. When they arrived at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, Chambers was sedated.

Poplar Bluff police arrested Justin Charles Molton, 30, of the 2100 block of Wood Street on three Poplar Bluff failure to appear warrants for stealing.

Timothy Scott Varner, 30, reported a theft at the Dollar General on Highway 53 on at about 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30.

According to the report, Varner said he was sitting in his car outside of the store when a woman in black yoga pants and a gray tank top took several items off of the rack out front of the store and lounge cushions. The suspect stuffed the items in the trunk of her car and drove away. Store employee Rose Bruce said items were taken and the suspect had been in a blind spot of the security cameras.

Sheila Faye Powell, of the 1200 block of N. 5th street, reported that she lost her wallet while walking home from the bank on Friday, Aug. 30. According to the report, she retraced her steps but did not locate it.

Adam Keith Brasher, 41, of the 800 block of Park Avenue was stopped driving a black motorcycle on Friday, Aug. 30, at Highway 53 and 142. According to the report, Brasher was unable to provide insurance and did not have state registration. Brasher also had a suspended license and no motorcycle endorsement. He was released at the scene with tickets.
