City firefighters responded at 10:20 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, to a report of smoke in the area of Woodrow and Hays streets. It was investigation only.

City firefighters responded 3:34 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, to assist emergency-medical-services personnel with removing a woman from her home at 714 10th St.

Firefighters also responded at 5:37 p.m. to assist EMS, but found the woman already had been returned into her home.

Firefighters returned to the residence at 9:04 p.m. to again assist EMS in removing the woman from her home.

City firefighters responded at 7:40 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, to a report of a gas smell at 934 Park Ave.

According to the report, firefighters found a gas smell near an area that recently had been dug up for a construction project.

Firefighters requested Spire gas company employees respond, and they did not detect a leak.

City firefighters responded at 8:09 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, to an alarm at Northwest Medical Center, 2210 Barron Road.

According to the report, maintenance personnel told firefighters a transformer was smoking, and he had contacted Municipal Utilities.

Firefighters found the transformer to be still smoking, but there was no fire.

Firefighters stood by while MU personnel checked the transformer.
