City firefighters responded at 2:13 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, to a report of a smoke odor at the 1706 Barron Road residence owned by Mike Hubberd.
According to the report, the odor had dissipated, but Hubberd wanted his home checked out.
Firefighters used the department’s thermal imaging camera, but found no overheated breakers or outlets.
Hubberd reported the smoke dissipated after the air conditioner had shut off.
Firefighters told Hubberd to not use the AC unit and have it checked by a service technician.
Firefighters reportedly found no working smoke detectors in the home and gave Hubberd one for each floor of his home.

City firefighters responded at 3:22 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, to a motor-vehicle crash at 2501 N. Westwood Blvd.
According to the report, firefighters assisted emergency-medical-services personnel and used an absorbent on spilled fluids.
