A 35-year-old Annapolis man drowned Thursday while swimming in Big Creek at Annapolis.
According to the report, Joey P. Bales attempted to swim to an underwater cave at about 1:15 p.m. and did not resurface.
Bales was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:10 p.m. by an emergency room doctor. He is the third drowning in Troop E this year.

Two area women were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 11:31 a.m. Thursday on Highway 49, one and one-half miles west of York Village, in Wayne County.
According to the report, Destiny L. Tippen, 21, of Williamsville was operating a 2008 Nissan Versa eastbound when it ran off the right side of the road and struck an embankment.
Tippen suffered minor injuries, as did her 42-year-old passenger, Brandy L. Sanders of Farmington. Both were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Jim Hoyt reported at about 5:45 a.m. Friday that the Lemonade House Grill in the 2200 block of North Westwood Boulevard had been forcibly entered.
According to the report, money was stolen from the cash registers and safe. A detective with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division processed the scene.
