POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Jerry Williams, 74, of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, August 2 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with funeral services following at noon. Chaplain Gary Watson will officiate. Burial with full military honors will take place at 2 p.m. at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Jerry Williams, 74, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. with his daughters by his side.

He was born May 28,1945 in California to the late Delbert Bethel and Anna Marie (Watson) Williams. He attended Holcomb High School in Holcomb, Mo. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and Missouri National Guard. Jerry worked as a cook at the John J. Pershing VAMC, a truck driver and retired from Briggs & Stratton twice. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed having get “togethers” with his family and friends.

Loving survivors include his five daughters, Kristen (Daron) Linberg-Lazalier of Poplar Bluff, Amanda (Matt) Elsworth of Poplar Bluff, Angela (Dustin) Hopkins of Puxico, Amy (Wade) Jaco of Poplar Bluff, and Jeriann (Matt) Wallace of Puxico; 18 grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Rudisill of Poplar Bluff and Donna (Oris) Thornberry of Clarkton, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Anna; three brothers, Bobby Watson, Leo Williams and Dallas Williams and a sister, Beatrice Sue Owens.
