POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — James Anthony Santoro, 84, of Poplar Bluff, died Saturday, July 27, 2019. Visitation will be held in the chapel at Moore Funeral Service 1100 Iron Bridge Road, Poplar Bluff on Friday, August 2 from 4-6 p.m. A service celebrating Jim’s life will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Jason Jordan officiating.

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — James Anthony Santoro, 84, of Poplar Bluff passed away on Saturday, July 27,2019 surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born on July 31, 1934 in Wakefield, MA the son of Pasquale and Mary Santoro. He married Dinorah Moreno on May 4, 1974 in Boston, MA, together they shared over forty-five years of marriage.

Jim attended the University of Massachusetts. He became a successful businessman in Boston and Los Angeles before retiring to Poplar Bluff in 1993 to be closer to family. He enjoyed working out with his wife and friends at Silver Sneakers at Ozark Fitness and attending Lunch and Learn at the hospital. He also enjoyed traveling especially cruises, playing golf and attending all of his grandkids and great-grandkids events as their biggest supporter. He made many lasting friendships and never met a stranger.

Jim is survived by the love of his life, Dinorah Santoro; daughter, Dee Sauls; granddaughters, Jenn Skillman and Danielle (Daniel) Strain; great-grandchildren, Ella Skillman, Norah and Chase Strain; sisters, Marie Santoro and Patricia Palumbo and countless family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dick Santoro.

Visitation will be held in the chapel at Moore Funeral Service 1100 Iron Bridge Road, Poplar Bluff on Friday, August 2 from 4-6 p.m.

A service celebrating Jim’s life will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Jason Jordan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to UCAN (Cancer Assistance Network) 2620 North Westwood Blvd Poplar Bluff, MO 63901 or Shriners Hospital.
