City firefighters responded at 6:54 p.m. Sunday, July 28, to a motor-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ninth and Maud streets.

According to the report, firefighters found the crash had occurred at Ninth and Spring streets and helped police officers reopen the road.

City firefighters responded at 4:31 p.m. Sunday, July 28, to a possible structure fire at the 325 E. Henry St. residence owned by Rachel Stiber.

According to the report, firefighters found light smoke coming from the rear of a single-story wood structure.

When firefighter Andrew Fox exited his truck to talk with Stiber, he reportedly was attacked by two dogs and suffered minor scratches and lacerations to his lower left leg.

Upon entering the home, firefighters reportedly found a grease fire on the stove top. Fire also was found next to the stove.

Firefighters placed a lid on the burning pot of grease, and the fire involving the cabinet was put out using a fire extinguisher.

The cooking pot was removed from the home, and a positive-pressure-ventilation fan was set up and windows opened to remove the smoke from the home.

City firefighters responded at 2:54 p.m. Saturday, July 27, to help police officers look for a missing child in the 800 block of Foley Street.

According to the report, firefighter conducted a grid search of the area until the child was found by police.

City firefighters responded at 9:17 a.m. Saturday, July 27, to a report of smoke coming from an outdoor ashtray at 430 Vine St.

According to the report, firefighters found smoke coming from the container and removed its lid to extinguish the cigarette inside.
