DONIPHAN — Authorities in Ripley County have five people in custody after the remains of a body were discovered.
Ripley County Sheriff Mike Barton said Saturday that names will be released once formal charges have been filed.
He said his department, along with the county coroner Mike Jackson and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, are continuing to investigate a homicide that occurred in Ripley County.
No other information was ready to be released, Barton said.
Jackson said he was called to a scene in the northern part of the county at around 7:30 a.m. Saturday and that an autopsy will be performed Sunday afternoon.
