Mary Cecil awarded internship by National Federation of Democratic Women

Macy Cecil, of Dexter, Mo., has received the Rilla Moran Woods Internship provided by the National Federation of Democratic Women. She is a political science and pre-law major at Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo.

This is a month long internship with the DNC Headquarters in Washington D.C. To qualify for this award, the applicant must be between 18-25 years of age and endorsed by her local Democratic Women’s club and the State Federation Democratic Women’s club and must submit an application and essay detailing her political involvement, academic standing, and how the internship would help her with her political ambitions. The purpose of this award is to assist young women who have demonstrated an interest in Democratic politics at the local and state level to gain experience at the national level. Macy will begin this internship at the height of the Democrat presidential primary debates next summer.
