POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Rose M. Foster, 72, a longtime resident of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Friday June 14, 2019 at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. Mrs. Foster was born in Thebes, Ill. July 19, 1946 to the late Homer and Joyce Stevenson White. She was of the Baptist faith.
On August 21, 1965, she married Billy Joe Foster in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death March 8, 2006.
Rose retired from Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in 2006. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching the Cardinals games on TV with her sister, collecting things dear to her and working puzzle books.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Bryant of Poplar Bluff; three sons, David Foster (Sheila) of Stringtown, Terry Foster (Diane) of Poplar Bluff, and Randy Foster of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Wanda Ashley; six grandchildren, Kevin Bryant, Matthew Ward, Tony Foster, Cody Foster, Jessica Hunter, and Michael Foster and five great-grandchildren, Taylor Bryant, Rylee Jade Bryant, Keegan Ward, Rosieleigh Foster, and Bentley Foster.
Preceding Mrs. Foster in death were two brothers, John Woodruff and Jimmy Diamond; three sisters, Ida Foster, Penny Taylor and Patricia White.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 19 at 11 a.m.. at Fitch-Hillis-Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at noon with Clifton Reed officiating. Burial will be in the City Cemetery.
