POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Mrs. Connie Carver, 88, died June 15, 2019 at her residence. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Mrs. Connie Reva Loraine (Cofer) Carver, born on October 8, 1930 in Ponder, Mo., to the late Minnie Dicus (Cofer) Katzendorn and the late Albert Lee Cofer, passed away at age 88 on June 15, 2019 at home with family at her bedside. Connie was married to the late Leamon Otto Carver Sr. for 54 years.

Connie and her husband, Otto were owners/opticians at Cherokee Opticians in St. Louis, Mo. until retiring in 1994. She and Otto loved to travel the United States and never missed family reunions and gatherings.

Connie is survived by her sons, Terry Carver of Shiloh, Ill. and Leamon Kerry Carver of Hillsboro, Mo.; daughters, Darline Schmitt (Ronald) of Osage Beach, Mo., Victoria Harwell (James) of Poplar Bluff and Barbara Millas; 24 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren; special cousins, Jerry and Lisa Gregory.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Leamon Otto Carver Jr., infant, Ricky and 3 year-old, Dennis; daughters, Sandra Riley and Karen Carver; brothers, Buford Cofer and Herbert Cofer; sisters, Helen Gage and Mary Ruth Simpson.

Connie and Otto determined long ago they wanted to contribute to medical science and research and thus donated their bodies to Washington University School of Medicine.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
