POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — James Franklin (Frank) Hyde, 84 of Poplar Bluff went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 5:11 p.m. in Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Frank was born on February 10, 1935 in Naylor, Mo., the son of Edward Orel and Ruby Orene (Mobley) Hyde. He married Clara June Mayse on May 26, 1956 in Poplar Bluff. Together they shared over 63 years of love and marriage.
Frank served his country honorably in the United States Army. After his discharge he continued to serve others with a career in social services as a treatment coordinator at the Sears Youth Center. James retired from social work in 1996.
Frank was a member of Fellowship General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. He was a 32nd degree Mason with almost 50 years of membership in Naylor Lodge # 568 A.F. & A.M. and was also a member of Poplar Bluff Lodge # 209 A.F. & A.M. James had the privilege of being a charter member of the R.O.M.E.O (Retired Old Men Eating Out) Club in Poplar Bluff.
Frank enjoyed conversing with friends over a good cup of coffee, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball and going to his grandchildren’s sporting events. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include, his wife June Hyde of Poplar Bluff; four children, Cindy (Dennis) French of Poplar Bluff, Scott Hyde of St. Charles, Mo., Tina (John) Saunders of Republic, Mo. and Lori (Devin) Jones of Poplar Bluff; bonus son, Timothy Schultz of St. Charles, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Matt (Jenni) Funke of Poplar Bluff, Allison (Jody) Pickett of London, Ohio, Tanner French of Poplar Bluff, Dylan (Heather) Groves of Willard, Mo., Jonathan Saunders of Republic, Mo., Collin Jones of Poplar Bluff and Cameron Jones of Poplar Bluff; ten great-grandchildren; four siblings, Della Keene of Pinckneyville, Ill., Paul (Jeanne) Hyde of St. Peters, Mo., Gene (Debbie) Hyde of O’Fallon, Mo. and Judy Soens of Farmington, Mo.; Frank is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Charles, Bob and Leroy Hyde.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6 from 11 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. with masonic rites beginning at 12:45 p.m. in the Fellowship General Baptist Church, 3581 North Westwood Boulevard, Poplar Bluff.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Byron Beck officiating.
Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo. with full military honors accorded by the United States Army Honor Guard.
