A Poplar Bluff man is to appear in court May 17 after recently being charged with 12 sexual-related felonies involving a young girl.
Thomas William Mosley, 40, of the 100 block of County Road 4415 is to appear at 1 p.m. before Associate Circuit Judge Joe Satterfield for a preliminary hearing on four unclassified felonies of first-degree statutory sodomy, six Class E felonies of incest and two counts of the felony of first-degree statutory rape. Satterfield was assigned to preside over Mosley’s case by the Missouri Supreme Court.
The charges were filed in February by Erin Lueker, a special prosecuting attorney for Butler County, and stem from an investigation by the Butler County Sheriff’s Department. That investigation began Dec. 11.
Mosley is accused of sexually assaulting a girl between Dec. 22, 2017, and Nov. 11, 2018.
The alleged abuse was disclosed during forensic interviews with the girl, according to Butler County Investigator Brandon Lowe’s probable-cause statement. The allegations also were disclosed to medical personnel, he said.
The girl cited five separate instances of alleged sexual assault by Mosley, according to Lowe.
The alleged abuse occurred at four different homes in Butler County, including Mosley’s home.
At this time, Mosley is free on a $200,000 bond after earlier having been arrested on the warrant by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.
Conditions of his bond include: no contact with the victim, either directly or indirectly; no possession of firearms or any other weapon; not to be within 1,000 feet of the victim’s mother’s home and no direct contact with any minor child.
Mosley had operated Poplar Bluff CrossFit in the 2300 block of West Maud Street.
