Rep. Hardy Billington (R-Poplar Bluff) has been recognized with the Freshman Legislator of the Year Award.
According to a press release Wednesday, the award was given to Billington for his advocacy of conservatism.
The award was presented by House Speaker Elijah Haahr
Billington has made an impact on the legislative process as a member of the House Veterans Committee and the House Financial Institutions Committee, officials say. He also serves on the Special Committee on Small Business and sponsored legislation (HB 728), which he believes will protect Christians from being threatened by anonymous lawsuits.
Haahr said Billington has earned the respect of his colleagues as someone who will work diligently to protect and uphold conservative principles.
“Thank you to Speaker Haahr for generously recognizing my legislative efforts this session. I am proud to be a Christian conservative, fiscal conservative and social conservative,” said Billington.
