City firefighters responded at 8:32 a.m. Thursday, April 4, to assist emergency-medical-services personnel with lifting a patient at 641 Lindsay St.

City firefighters responded at 8:47 a.m. Thursday, April 4, to a report of smoke in the boiler room at First Christin Daycare, 1601 N. Main St.
According to the report, the building was evacuated, and firefighters found light smoke in the boiler room, but after investigating no source of the smoke was found.
There reportedly had been a momentary power outage prior to the smoke being discovered. The outage possibly caused some damage to one of the heating units in the boiler room.
Municipal Utilities personnel responded and checked for the power source for failure. Daycare employees reported an heating/ventilation/air conditioning technician had been request to respond to find the problem.
The smoke reportedly cleared from the room, and no additional smoke was found.
