Butler County retired teachers group will meet Wednesday, April 17, in the Missouri Room at the Poplar Bluff school administration building. Linda Surber will share information from the President’s Summit she attended in Jefferson City in March. Members will share other pertinent information from MRTA designed to help teachers preserve our benefits and to help us enjoy a safe, healthy retirement. The name of the recipient of the college scholarship awarded to an area high school senior who plans to pursue a degree in education will be announced.

Future meetings include a Fiftieth Anniversary Birthday Party on June 19. This unit was started in June of 1969 and has continued serving the needs of retirees and Butler County since then. In August, the president of MRTA, Debi Ingram will speak to the group. All retired teachers and retired school personnel are invited to attend any of these meetings.
