POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. —Oneida Mae Kimbrow, 89, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away on March 29, 2019 at her residence.
Oneida was born on December 23, 1929, in Orange, California the daughter of Thomas and Elsie Adeline (Thomas) Smith. She married James A. Kimbrow on January 6, 1948, in Saint Louis, MO. Together they shared over 57 years of marriage before his passing in May of 2005.
Oneida was a beautician for many years before entering the healthcare field.
Oneida was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, most of all Oneida loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her four sons, James L. (Amalia) Kimbrow of Poplar Bluff, Thomas E. (Carolyn) Kimbrow of Poplar Bluff, Bobby Ray (Nancy) Kimbrow of Poplar Bluff, Terry Wayne (Patricia) Kimbrow of Conway, Ark.; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Shands of Fisk, Mo. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Oneida was preceded in death by husband, James A. Kimbrow; parents Thomas and Elsie Smith; the father who raised her, Louis Arnold; four brothers, Bobby Gene Brewington, Larry Arnold, James E. Arnold and Carl “Pete” Arnold.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, April 1 at Moore Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m., on Tuesday, April 2 in the chapel at Moore Funeral Service with Rev. Terry Kimbrow officiating. Internment will follow at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church or Central Baptist College in Conway, Ark. Donations will be accepted at Moore Funeral Service.
