POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Wayne Smith, 54, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died March 14, 2019 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was born in St. Louis, Mo. May 10, 1964, to the late Vaughn Smith and Patricia Fuller Smith. Ronald was a long time resident of Poplar Bluff. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

Ronnie was self employed in the automotive business. Ronnie loved his son; his dog, Hotrod and creating beautiful cars. He enjoyed anything to do with Nascar and watching the Cardinals on TV. His favorite holiday was Christmas.

He was a man of faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the promise of heaven.

He is survived by his step-mother, Dot Smith of Poplar Bluff; one son, Jake (Megan) Smith of Tenn; two sisters, Dinna Pavelko (Thomas) of Chicago, Il. and Crystal Smith McLaughlin (Joseph) of Ballwin, Mo.; and many others who loved him.

We will miss our baby brother, his laughter and hugs, but we know he has been returned to health, forever young, safe and secure with his Savior.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m.. Monday, March 18 at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. Burial will be at City Cemetery. Elder Rob Duckett will officiate. Online condolences: www.fitchhillisfh.com
