CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. — Dale Eugene Bullington was born February 14, 1943 in McCarty (Caruthersville), Mo. He was the son of the late Ernest J. Bullington and Alma A. Ferrell Bullington.
Dale departed this life on March 9, 2019 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He was 76 years old.
Dale was married to Sherry Lux in Caruthersville on December 27, 1963. They celebrated 55 years of marriage.
He worked for 42 years for the Arkansas Western Gas Association and was the supervisor of the meter department.
Dale proudly served in the United States National Guard for six years.
Dale was a man that loved life. He loved to fish and hunt. He was known for being a part of the softball team – the Sidewinders. He enjoyed basketball and was a St. Louis Cardinal fan. His greatest love was for his family and the time he spent with them.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Bullington of Poplar Bluff; two sons, Kenny and his wife, Lori of Poplar Bluff, Chris and his wife, Jennifer of Caruthersville; three brothers, Earl Bullington, Jimmy Bullington and Glenn Ray Bullington, all of Caruthersville; five grandchildren, Mariah Bullington, Madison Smith, Ethan Smith, Evan Bullington and Audrey Smith; many other relatives and friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ernest Bullington; an infant brother; and a sister, Sharon Kay Bullington.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m.-noon, Friday, March 15 at the First Baptist Church in Caruthersville. The funeral will follow at noon in the church with Jimmy L. Lemmonds officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville.
